Coloration
There are 3 basic Types of Coloration:
Cryptic (Camouflage)
Disruptive
Aposematic
Cryptic (Camouflage)
tries to blend in with the surrounding area/environment.
Hognose, rattlers, rough green, some rat snakes, pine snakes, etc…
Disruptive
tries to use the surrounding area to blend in by breaking up their pattern making the snake look less visible, eyes on the tail or things like that.
Pythons, boas, gaboon vipers, etc…
Aposematic
tries to stand out so you WILL SEE IT.
Coral snakes, gray banded king, milks, scarlet, etc…
